Louisiana classic. After hearing my husband attempt to read it, I'm thinking you have to know how real live Cajuns talk before being able to pull it off. :)

Unsure if I have ever actually owned this book, most who have grown up in South Louisiana know the story. I love this tale. Think of it as the Christmas classic with a very Cajun spin to it. The story is simply fun with beautiful illustrations in every edition of the book.

Merry Christmas to y’all til I saw ya some more.
It’s just not Christmas without a few stories, and this is one of them. Few make me smile more than this tale of our people, cher.

I had to explain what a Cajun was to some of the students, then they told me I sounded like Emeril when I read the story.

We've read this on Christmas Eve for the past several years and it never gets old. Such a fun book to read with family at Christmas.

I was given this book by a family friend at age 5. My mom just mailed it to Coltrane and he loves it. Perhaps this inspired my interest in dialect.

Grew up in Canada, but with a Cajun mother who kept her culture alive with Mardi Gras festivities, Gumbo, and this book.

A companion book, in many ways, to a Cajun Night Before Christmas. An okay story about Santa moving to Louisiana to escape the cold weather, and finding a replacement for his old, tired reindeer.

In a house where Justin Wilson was revered as king, this one was a perennial favorite growing up.
