I rarely read books set in high school because I have a really hard time connecting with young. But I love Amanda Richardson's writing and her forbidden romances are so good that, when she announced she was writing her first reverse harem, high school bully story, I told myself I would try it. And I'm so glad I did because Ruthless Crown is a page-turning, mind-blowing book.
Briar and The Kings (Hunter, Ash, Samson, and Ledger) are simply mesmerizing. Yes, they are 18 years old but their pasts are complex. There are so many alluring details and interesting dynamics, that it's impossible not to want to know each main character. The multiple POVs made the book even more enticing. The Kings rule the private school and the town, and Briar is the new girl with the spunky attitude who is not afraid of them. But looks can be deceiving.
In true Amanda Richardson fashion, the descriptions of Ravenwood Academy and the town in New England are impeccable and so detailed that I could almost see them in front of me while reading. I'm so excited the next book is coming soon because I'm dying to know how this duet ends. This is a guilty pleasure for sure.

A good reverse harem romance
I really enjoyed this book. I love Briar and her guys. I can’t wait to read the next book. I really want to see how they take Cam down.

So let me get this straight. After being raped by her mother's boyfriend 9 months previous. Her mum has up and married a man after 6 months of dating and moved her and her daughter from California to Massachusetts. Then 10 days after arriving this girl is now sleeping with her new step rother( whom she hadn't met before they moved into their house) and his 3 friends. Who happened to go from tormenting her to worshiping her quicker than Usain bolt.
And I can't forget to overlook the way it comes across as a cut and paste of a draft with no proofreading or editing. Bad spelling g and repeat sentence.
Will I read the second, Fuck yes I'm a smut slut.

2.5⭐️
This book had a lot of potential. I love a bully romance and I really love a reverse harem, however, this book fell a little flat for me. Briar had some trauma that made her weary of the guys and the guys version of “bullying” was really tame compared to other Bully RHs. It just seemed that they went from bullies/enemies to lives in like the first few chapters. I would have enjoyed more tension and more angst before we go to the “I’m yours” and “your ours” portions of things. Overall quick and easy read. Would be good for a first time reader of bully and RHs

Well I was very entertained even though this book was so far past realism. It was the quick pace, entertainment I needed.
Favorite non-spoiler quote: “I’m way more terrified of men who hide their monstrosities.”

TikTok find. Waiting for the shoe to drop. Teenage angst and then some steamy scenes. Book 2 out in September….hmmm maybe plot then
SCREAMINGGGGGGGG!!!!
Omg this book was incredible! Briar is such a strong and resilient FMC and her guys were all unique and amazing in their own we. They were supporting of her and helped her heal all while being protective and showing her what she's capable of.
And I really loved the idea that these 4 guys have a reputation, but we get to see that they aren't what you think - they're hiding hearts of gold under that morally grey exterior AND I GOBBLED UP EVERY LAST CRUMB!!!!
And THE SPICE!!! Omg so many scenes and I can't (and won't) pick a favorite ....although I am always a sucker (pun intended) for some sword crossing and we got this with Ash and Samson.
Bring on book 2 - I'm feral

I’m not quite sure what I though this book was going to be after the small snippet I saw on tiktok but this was super intense.
It was by no means a literary masterpiece but I will probably be reading the second
