3.5 Hearts ~ Co-review with Adam

Ahhhh there’s nothing like watching porn together to bring two besties even closer.

This is a nice little spinoff from Out of the Shadows, featuring Dylan and Nate who have been attached to the hip since they were the wee age of eight. They know each other inside and out, are thick as thieves, and though everyone else sees their bromance and assume they’re a couple, the thought doesn’t register with either of them until that fateful night.

Props to Wells for a very well paced friends-to-lovers story. Dylan and Nate pretty much take their new dynamic heads on - confronting it, discussing it, and then experimenting with it. Oh yeah. There wasn’t really any angst or huge roadblocks to overcome, and it doesn't hurt at all that this was all sorts of sexy.

Perhaps this is a bit far fetched in reality, but we all read romantic fiction for a reason, right? So, put aside the fact that these two are supposedly straight, sit back and enjoy them finding in the other everything they want in a partner, lover, and long term relationship, and revel in this fairytale dream come true!

A rather glorious awkward first time and frank talking about how anal isn't the end all be all was refreshing enough to elevate it. There was some stuff I side-eyed, but overall I enjoyed.

This is a short and sweet follow up to [b:Out of the Shadows|35455651|Out of the Shadows|K.C. Wells|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1497771085s/35455651.jpg|56844321] which focuses in on Nate and Dylan, best friends and perhaps something a little bit more.

When I read OotS one of the things which jumped out was the connection between Dylan and Nate so it was great to hear they were getting their own story.

And it's a super sweet one, as they fumble their way through experimenting first with hands and mouths and later with more. They're a great pairing whose friendship journey into sexual attraction felt organic.

This is low angst, moderate steam and a whole load of perfect sweetness.

The title alone had me cracking up, and this is actually a novella "sequel" to a book I'd already read so I was there and then a friend of mine begged me to read it so he could discuss and let me tell you. I believe this book could also be called, "2 bros chillin' in a hot tub 0 feet apart, but they're not gay...or are they!?: The great bi awakening of two bros.

I picked this up on audio b/c it was 3 hours. I know, I am still stupid enough to think a 3 hours book would be enough - of course it wasn't. Also, the narrator didn't really do a good job making the bros sound like bros. Like Dylan was so feminine sounding from teh beginning I was surprise to find out his character only dated women before. I had thought he was like the gay guy in love with the bro - dude.

Disappointing story about 2 white people with lame ass Boston / Fenway park references that made me want to throw up.

I'd give it a MEH... maybe.
