Kind of a drawn out story. End of the world, dystopia story.

The last like 100 pages, things get a little tense and you feel bad for animals and people.

was not feeling the dystopian mode. 
and despite there being a note of hope in where the story was headed and the presence of 2 dogs that were very loved by the protagonist , the description of the dystopian world was not what I was in the mood for
