I know everyone seems to love Patterson but I just can’t see it. This was an ok book but I had several eye-rolls. Glad it was short and only took a day to read although I be honest I skimmed some of it.

Really enjoyed this book. The ending was a surprise. I have already checked out the next book in the series.

I loved the story line. He’s divorced but they are still friends. Murder makes him rethink everything. He’s heartbroken. You can feel the heartbreak. He’s off to find the killer.

I liked this book much more than I thought I would. I don’t know why. After all, it is James Patterson but I am always suspicious about how much was actually written by Patterson when there is another authors name on the cover. It almost seems to me that it was “sanctioned“ by Paterson but not written by him. In any event, I really did enjoy this one. As a matter of fact, it took me until chapter 80 out of 87 to really be sure who the bad guy was. Fun read!

It's good to have a new series that entertains and isn't just the same old detective. I really enjoyed Texas Ranger and the character of Rory Yates. It was a great introduction and background to someone new in the Patterson sphere and even I didn't want to believe the truth behind who the killer really was.

Easy, fun read.

As usual, this is a quick read from James Patterson. This time, Rory Yates, a Texas Ranger is called back to his hometown because his ex-wife, Anne, has been receiving threatening calls. When he returns, he finds more than he expected. Rory knows that Anne has been dating Cal, whom he arrested years ago. Rory never liked their relationship.
Also, two of Rory's ex-girlfriends are still in the town. And, Rory's dad has a secret, and Rory's brother, Jake, is out drinking and not at home with his wife and child.
Rory is trying to do the right thing, and has been told to stay out of the investigation, but he just can't.
This novel moves quickly, with enough innuendo thrown in to keep you off-track, but eventually, Rory finds out who the evil person is, and why.
