This was a fun but minor Spidey story that lacked some of the emotional heft some of his best books offer. There was also a tacky, hey here's the world trade center so you know this is set in the past splash page. Still, Kingpin, Mysterio and Black Cat are a fun trio to have in the mix.

I was really excited to read this series and maybe I hyped it a bit too much in my head but I didnt love it like I thought I would. Its a fun quick read with a team I never thought would meet. You get Peter David writing and Greg Land artwork. It doesn't seem to be too serious of a story and maybe I wish it would have been. Gregs artwork is great but its not the best I've seen. It could be the inks but I like his early 2000 stuff better like on Ultimate Fantastic Four run. I don't hate it but I don't love it either.

Interesting plot, on the whole. I’ve been enjoying this whole revisit to this continuity, so I really don’t have many complaints about it (other than that I wish I was reading the original series as it came out, but that’s not the point).
I will say that they probably should have been more careful in the placement of some of the webbing, but that’s just me. It certainly broke the immersion for me though.
