I think this was right book wrong format. The plot and the characters seemed really interesting but I did not jive with the male voice actor.

This was a super cute, quick friends to lovers romance. It does touch on some heavy topics and I love the coming of age aspect of it.

Was this my favorite Talia Hibbert? No. Was it a Netflix holiday romcom in novella form? Yes. Was that exactly what I was looking for right now because the writers' and actors' strikes left us with a dearth of holiday romance movies this year? Also yes.

TL/DR: not a perfect book for me, but the right book for right now

Taylor Swift songs: “Jump then fall (tv)”, “afterglow”

Age rating: 16+ (one brief spicy scene 0.5/5🌶️)

This was such a short and sweet holiday read!! For a lot of novellas I do wish they were longer, but I feel like this one did was a fully fleshed out and emotional story within the shorter page count! I loved that it was dual POV! I believe the MMC is supposed to be modeled after Chris Evans, which we love! It’s a celebrity romance, with brother’s best friend, friends to lovers, and he’s been pining after her for years! When we talk about men who are obsessed with the FMC, this man is OBSESSED with her in the sweetest and cutest way! Abbie was so relatable and her emotional journey was so heartwarming. These two are perfect for each other, no notes. Literally loved every second of it. I do want to revisit the characters, maybe in showcasing another couple’s love story within the friend group/family? This is my first adult romance by Talia Hibbert (I read her YA debut and loved it), and now I am going to be binging all of her adult romance books.

Talia Hibbert did it again.

Abby is so autistic-coded it made me cry.

Perfect, no notes. God NO ONE writes banter like Talia Fucking Hibbert. I was kicking my feet every other page and honest to god giggling and hiding my face.

I also fucking LOVE that alongside the lightheartedness and teasing and sickly sweet cuteness, Talia’s characters ALWAYS have a backstory. What a fucking gift to read about people who are “broken” like me and my loved ones getting their HEAs. No one deserves it more.

Oh and this is not super christmas-y. It takes place at Christmas and there’s a blizzard but it’s not ABOUT Christmas. Personally, it was the perfect amount of cheer in a year when there’s an active Jenn O Side happening and I’m struggling to feel the holiday vibes.

Also there are cats. And the very best side characters.

Yeah i fucking loved this one. 🥰

This was pretty good. I love Talia Hibbert's writing, and prickly heroine/cinnamon roll hero is one of my favorite tropes. I just didn't have enough time with the couple, I don't think.
