It was slow to get going but it started to get much better once there was more interactions with the harem and I got to know more of the MC. The MC was however the worst part of this book, she is extremely irritating, she gets mad every time someone calls her a brat but that is exactly how she acts, like a spoiled brat. It's understandable after how she grew up but I wish there had been more growth in her character instead of her being in denial and blaming everyone else for her problems for 90% of the book. The love interests have potential but with seven of them they aren't yet distinguishable from each other. I'll definitely read the second book to see if they're developed on more. I received an advance review copy for free from Booksirens. This review is voluntary and solely my opinion.

Wow, there's a lot to unpack in this book. Why I only give 4 stars is because the MMC is a little to whiny and sometimes super powerful and then suddenly not at all? It's confusing with the words Hollows and Shadows. And how the guys react is weird to me, and she is a little to clueless sometimes.

Other than that it was really good!

This is an original and new RH paranormal series. I like the multi-POV as it gives a fuller story. This has an entertaining story line filled with intrigue and characters that have have just barely scratched the surface on learning about. This is a slower burn romance that has no lack of heat and tension. There are a few sentences that seem a bit awkwardly constructed, but it did not take away from ,y overall enjoyment of this book. I am looking forward to the next book.

I started liking this read a lot more after the 50% mark.
~I thought the MC was extremely annoying. She's self-aware of her faults, but it took 75% of the book and something major for her to chill out and maybe think for once. And I completely get that what she grew up with can make her that way, but I would've hoped for more change and growth at some point. I get she has trust issues and issues with herself, but could she have at least been nice to the kids who did nothing to her lol
~I began to like this book once more things were revealed. I would read the next in line to see where it goes and if the MC grows at all in the next installment. I loved the fact that you find out more about the MC's past to a degree and see POV's outside of the MC. It would've been cool to see one through ol' Luci's pov but it did not happen in this book.
~The characters seem very typical of a reverse harem. You have your good and bad twins, the savior, the control freak, the outcast, the a**hole.
~I also thought this book would be way steamier than it was to be honest. Again, that may be in the next installment, now knowing the ending and what fate has brought to the MC and her guardians.

Overall, I enjoyed this enough to finish it and possibly want to see the next installment just to see what happens. I would recommend this to people who enjoy angels, archangels, and Nephilim in their stories, to those who love a reverse harem, some steam included, and a bratty MC.

CW: abuse, sexual assault, mentions of torture, sex, violence, foul language

I was so excited to read this book as the description really excited me and it did not let me down. Loved the character development throughout the book with things constantly being added to either enhance your understanding or spin you around. It wasn't particularly fast paced but still managed to keep me hooked to the point that I finished it in a day. Spicy scenes were good but on the milder side but the bubbling tension made up for that in a way.
Will definitely be looking out for the rest of this series.

I received an ARC of this book but as always by reviews are freely given and 100% my own.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. This book is great so far! I can’t wait to see where the next book goes. Belle was raised a nephilim when she manages to escape she goes to college where she is as trapped as she was before. The play on angels is really unique and I can’t wait to read more about it!

This book introduces Isabelle who lives a sheltered life, more so a life of a captive. Her whole life she has been feed lies to control her and now shes faced with people she thinks are her enemies telling her that is not the case.
Isabelle is moved to a school run by Lucifer and has 7 gorgeous guardians to protect her (or keep her in line). Isabelle wants nothing but freedom and with the lies and omissions continuing she wants nothing but to escape.
Throughout the book, we see interesting developments between her and her guardians but also the relationships that already seem formed between some of the guardians. Im hoping in the next book we get explore more of this.
This book ends on a cliffhanger and I cannot wait for the next one. I cannot wait for Isabelle to come into her own and be the badass I know she can be.

I went into this book with zero expectations. I read the excerpt and was aware of the genre along with a tentative concept of the plot.

The gist of my reading experience:

-The beginning was interesting, felt high stakes

-I craved a key at the beginning to breakdown what the various types of beings/creatures there are in this story. This no longer bothered me by a quarter of the way through.

-Some grammatical errors, my perception of character incongruent presentation, and word choice took me out of the story—especially during the first half of the book.

-By chapter 19, I was well and truly intrigued.

-Yes, I agree with others who have said that our first MC (Belle) is not particularly likable. At times I was softening toward her and I appreciated that some of her lines toward the later half of the book felt more authentic and even provided me with some humor.

-Hello smut. I’m generally not one who intentionally seeks out smut or runs from spiciness either. I was not displeased with the intimate scenes in this book, just surprised at times. My big critique here along with other moments in the book not necessarily relating to smut—was just pacing. The paving at times felt off, especially when put in partnership with other information the reader is presented with (thoughts/emotions of characters prior to imitating any intimacy or other behaviors).

- There were a few moments interspersed in the book during which I would have liked more description of what was occurring, especially during transitions in character movement or location changes. (Specific example—vague description for spoiler free: Edward transported from his car to gripping the arm of our MC).

-I enjoy the multiple POV’s! I also loved that by the end the supporting characters felt more individual with their unique voices and histories. Initially they sort of all were jumbled together in my reader brain (prior to each having their POV chapter).

-Intrigued by the way the polyamorous relationship is set up. Definitely not hating it.

-Wishing there weren’t certain word choices such as “little girl” when posed between potential lovers. Personally it gives me the creeps.

-Really interested in learning more about the powers in this world and happy that we were delving more into that by the end. Felt like we barely scratched the surface with the story progression around this piece and our MC’s overall growth.

-I had a hard time feeling confident I would want to continue reading during the initial chapters of this book. By the end, I was disappointed it was over and was ready to charge ahead. I do intend to read the next book.
