An alien romance with opposites and a tormented past to overcome? Yes. Please. I was very excited to read this book, but I will say unfortunately the romance and back story fell flat. It felt like things were resolved too quickly and made it hard for me to really feel for the characters. That being said, the world building in this story was well done, and I found myself intrigued on where this book was going and the details of the over arcing mystery. I think there is more than meets the eye with this tale. I am curious to continue!

This is a new author to me and I have not read the previous books, but figured out each book is dedicated to a sister! In this book, the story is around Vanessa and an alien she meets Arkon. Vanessa has a divorce after a traumatic marriage on Earth. When the soldiers rescue her and her sisters in Saedo, she decides to go to Saedo as there is nothing left on Earth. She meets Arkon, and sparks fly. But Can Vanessa get over her traumatic past and go closer to Arkon? That is the crux of the story. It is a sweet romance and sci-fi fiction. I would like to go back and read the other books.

Another great book!!!! I am a glut for good alien romance (ask my poor husband) and this did. not. disappoint! I adore Vanessa (and her family!) and Arkon is yumminess personified. I love that Vanessa is a chef and it’s so magical to read about all the treats and foods she can create. Arkon is adorable in his pursuit of Vanessa and I love his protective side. This was a fantastic book and y’all should know I’m about to read the rest of the authors work!

An Alien Storm (Soldiers of Saedo #4) by Calla Zae

This is not the first read by the author. This is my first read of the series. An Alien Storm is the fourth book of the Soldiers of Saedo. An Alien Storm had me hooked from the beginning.

Vanessa is a chef on a planet away from Earth. Three of her sisters have already found their forever mates and it might be her turn next. After her failed marriage, can she let another man in? The quote I chose for Vanessa is: “There’s nothing wrong with admiring a beautiful man. It’s like how I appreciate an enticing entrée when it’s placed before me.”

Arkon is a star-being. A green one to be exact. He likes to know the outcome of things around him. Then he meets Vanessa and can't seem to stay away. The quote I chose for Arkon is: “I like to know exactly where things fall. I don’t like to leave things to chance. I make my own solution based on facts. Sometimes, I make an educated guess based on data I’ve collected.”

Highly recommended for Sci-Fi Romance lovers.

While I have not read the previous three books in this series, our author does a great job of bringing us up to speed on her characters and plot. Full of romance, relationships, drama, chemistry, and more I just simply couldn’t put this book down. This particular story follows Vanessa a human chef is just trying to make her new life work, but it seems that her old life comes back to haunt her. Akron is the soldier that saved her, when they say that opposites attract that was definitely the case with these two.  So if your looking for a short but good story then look this one up today. Trust me you won’t be disappointed.

This is a fast-paced, quick, easy science fiction romance read. I did enjoy reading this one, and it can be read as a standalone book. I have not read any of the previous books in this series and I didn't feel like I missed much. There were a few times that I wished I had some more background information but that contribute to the ending or my feelings about this book at all. It was interesting to me see just how creative this authors mind is, especially in regards to the cuisine in this book and the edible lingerie. If you like steamy, easy sci-fi reads then this one is for you!

I love to find new authors and new series. I am also very bad at reading books out of sequence. This is the first book by this author I am reading and I was not let down. I really like how the author has a unique and refreshing plot.

The characters come with their own shall we say past and it adds to the story. I also like how the story is well balanced with romance and drama. The characters really have depth and I felt as though I was right there in the thick of it. I cannot wait to read more from this series.

Vanessa is trying to live her life for herself and leave her painful past behind her. Yet it seems the past does not want to leave. As Vanessa begins to settle into her new life a storm comes to both the planet and Vanessa herself. For Vanessa, Arkon is a bright spot in all the chaos.  Can he be the one to banish the past for her?

Vanessa and Arkon’s story is an interesting read. The two work well together and make a nice couple. They each have their own demons to deal with and find that by working together love has a better chance. Their story is a fast paced one that revolves around emotions. While this book immerses the reader in a fantasy world, I felt that there was a lot of constant describing of the details that pulled me out of the story. The romance between the two is good but I did not feel connected to the characters.  While this may not be a perfect book for me it does a good job of moving the story arc along and keeps the reader interested.

Vanessa is recovering from an abusive relationship and finds herself wildly attracted to Arkon. She is learning to trust herself and maybe just maybe she’s open for love. If not, at least the lovemaking is hot! Meanwhile the planet she is inhabiting is being overtaken by alien worms creating a nasty storm and trying to destroy those already living there. Thankfully our heroine has sisters and a wise and insightful grandmother to the magic and the ways of the cosmos. I thoroughly enjoy this world Calla Zae has created. It reminded me of Guardians of the Galaxy and Star Wars with its own spice and yet entirely its own. I’ll be reading more of Soldiers of Saedo!

This is the first book that I have read by this author and she has me intrigued. The plot and characters where different but in a great way.

They have both been hurt before will they let their guard down and look to the future or will they keep looking backwards to their past?

Vanessa just wants a calm life with her sisters after getting out of a bad marriage on Earth from her ex-husband Travis. Living in the Province of Saedo on planet Celeron, Vanessa is a Chef and she has found an abundance of herbs she can use in her dishes.

Arkon, is one of the soldiers that saved Vanessa from her Ex.  He is a skilled soldier who prefers numbers, charts, and anything with absoluteness. He finds himself attractive to Vanessa but he isn’t sure how to handle her. He is a rule follower and Vanessa is a rule breaker….

Can these two overcome the obstacles in their way? Will they have a happily ever after?
