wow — this was incredible. gut wrenching and grueling yet immensely tender and eye opening. like looking in a mirror i’ve been avoiding my life. extremely well researched and written, 10/10 recommend for a robust reflection on womanhood. only complaint is that i wish i had read sooner, perhaps would have made things a little easier. thank you melissa

I have mixed thoughts about this book. Overall, I found it a bit difficult to get through; parts of it are more academic analysis-y than I expected or wanted. It’s also hard to read about the horrors that women go through in such a great quantity (important of course, but certainly doesn’t qualify the book as an easy read). It is very insightful and has some beautiful lines and made me think, though, which I appreciated greatly.
