While much of the idle and confusing investigation of the Fantomhive Manor Murder Arc makes up a large portion of the issues in this volume, the arrival of the mysterious viscar and the wrapping up of the case is well paced and intriguing.

Rating Update 3/13/2019 - 4 to 3 stars. Because I found the investigation to be boring, and because it took so much of the volume, I've lowered the rating from 4 to 3 stars.

Update August 1, 2019
With the adoption of my new rating system, a three star rating is befitting. The original review and rating update from March 13, 2019, conform to the new rating system. Having read the synopsis of each chapter in this volume, I have conjured up visually certain scenes but cannot remember how I felt about the volume. I do remember the revealment of Sebastian being Father Jeremy as lifting the volume from a two star rating to three star rating.

Update
I have changed the color of the rating from green to green with a grey outline. In finalizing my rating system, I am going to use my current memories, the synopsis of the entire volume synopsis on the Wikipedia page titled "List of Black Butler chapters", reliance on the original review, my trust in the previous update's reliance of the synopsis of each chapter on the fandom site, and a reread of the synopsis of each chapter on the fandom site to ascertain the rating.

With all this in mind, the three star-rating seems like a good choice because of the original review and subsequent updates. I have colored the rating green with a grey outline because, despite the boring aspects mentioned in several updates, the original review states that "the arrival of the mysterious viscar and the wrapping up of the case is well paced and intriguing", which gives me good comfort that this is a three star-rated book.

I have created the 3LL rating type for this volume. Its description goes as follows: "This is a book with a decent plot, ranging between a two star-rating because of boredom and three star-rating because of enjoyment, before concluding with an enjoyable ending (perhaps reaching four stars)".

I believe I must correct this statement from the previous update: "I do remember the revealment of Sebastian being Father Jeremy as lifting the volume from a two star rating to three star rating". I lean towards the idea that the revealment of Sebastian cemented this volume with a three star-rating.

Nice to see the mystery resolved, even though some parts were a little obvious. The art remains in tip-top shape.

Mega emotional and exciting. As good as the previous volume, but there were some logic gaps (for instance, snake knots aren't safe as a snake can untie itself and even with the snake in the hand one should always keep their hands away from the head, most snakes are agile).

Also known as the conclusion to the Phantomhive murder mystery arc. A lot less action, a lot more resolution, and a new character that will have Sherlock Holmes fans jumping out of their seat (as if having the author himself in the story wasn't enough!). I love the Phantomhive staff in this one, especially Tanaka, who raised his coolness level 200% just in the first chapter. I also love that we saw more of Ciel without Sebastian and that he is capable of making relationships with other people. Also, I want a carrier owl too! I wonder if the mansion has an owlery of sorts somewhere on the grounds; I imagine Sebastian would be the one to take care of it.
