Interesting book about how we communicate- inspired me to ask more questions and think about what people want from a conversation

I absolutely loved this book and would highly recommend it to anyone who will listen. This book is nonfiction in a way that remains interesting and draws upon stories and experiences people can relate to or will want to engage with.
Sometimes when you hear advice or read a book you are just struck with this feeling that you know it will stick with you for your lifetime. Much of this book remains in the back of my mind even after I would put it down. Additionally, this novel drew memories of conversations forward in my mind as I read giving them new context and truly finding a new understanding of my experiences.
I truly believe in the world’s current climate everyone could afford to read this book and learn how to connect with one another or even to simply have better conversations.

There were some nuggets. There were also some brow raising points and some things I’ll have to think about more to evaluate.

As someone who LOVES communication as a concept, this was fascinating! I have lots of highlights that I look forward to reviewing over time.

Didn’t like it or think I would learn anything more after the beginning. The first main section was very repetitive, and the real-world examples weren’t super illustrative - ascribing intentional communication best-practices to normal human interactions with minimal evidence that the person was embodying any kind of principle we could learn from.
