Four days of you and me follows the story of Lulu and Alex and their meant to be romance through their yearly highschool class trips. If this is what US schools are like, this is wild... first it's a local science centre, then a roller coaster park, then New York including the Met (which spoiler... they skipped!?) and then oh yea no big deal, the senior class gets to go to ENGLAND? what the heck? I had one field trip in highschool and it was to the library!!! I get this was all possible because some super rich dude died and made a field trip endowment fund, but where's the rich dude in my life? Anyways, Lulu and Alex are cute and this was a classic young adult romance with plot points that made me shake my head but ya know I was here for the drama.

WAAAAAAAAHHHHH alex rouvelis bf of the year contender??? nomination for his utter obsession with annoying and caring for lulu ie. always remembering that she’s vegan and being so tactile with her)

the concept of this book is so fun, i just wish i got MORE of it. i wanted to just follow alex and lulu through the whole 4 years of high school (and into college) because they were that endearing. i felt like the ending was a bit abrupt, but i suppose the author said all they needed to say?

oct 2021-maybe it’s the fact i’m extremely emotional rn but this book was prob one of the best i’ve like… ever read?? okay i kinda hated both lulu and alex some of the time and her farting while he was tickling her was like WHY but despite that CMONNN IT WAS SO CUTE

oct 2023 update- i don’t remember that scene at all… it lowkey didn’t hold up as i’ve gone through highschool like wdym yiu went to NYC and then london back to back for school trips but yet alex’s character was basically built around his needing of money ljke how’d u afford that?! it’s still cute just not hs realistic

This was an interesting book. I was curious how the author would write four years in such a short book, but it was done relatively well. My problem with that, is the fact that if she went back in time to reference an incident it would be hard to tell. The freshmen year was hard to really believe they were freshmen, but that is just me. Also, this school has some good funding because jeez that last time I went on a field trip I was in 4th grade! The romance in the book wasn't really what I wanted in the book, I found the parts ok, but I was more interested in the main character and her story with publishing!

I gave it ★★★☆☆ initially but decided to bump my rating up to ★★★★☆ because I realized that this book differs from other YA romance novels in one substantial way: It is not a slow-burn romance that ends with the characters falling in love; it's an on-again, off-again relationship between two high-schoolers who are growing up and don't know what their future will look like. It feels a bit more real than others.
Overall a sweet reading.

These two frustrated the heck out of me while I rooted for the side characters.
