"M is for Mama's boy" is about how Simon, turned evil in the previous book, retaliates against his former NERDS team-members. The plot, while quirky and funny, was much the same as the first books plot, so I was not wondering what came next (which is almost essential for a good book). I could bypass the similar plot alone, but it was coupled with shallow characters, which is why I rated this book two star. (By shallow characters, I mean that you did not get to know the characters in depth, in fact I couldn't distinguish personalities in any of the characters.) Besides the previously mentioned facts, it was a quick, entertaining read, and good for anyone wanting a wacky read.

A fun read. Light and easy. I thought the man-up speech was pretty goofy.

*SPOILER ALERT*

Instead of sensors this time, he had different codes. Not as fun. Still pretty good. I didn't appreciate that he said to photocopy the circular codes, or cut them out of the book, because obviously you aren't going to do the second option, and most people don't just have a photocopier on hand. Also, for one of the codes he said to combine it with the circular code, and didn't really explain how to do that. Also, I thought that Archie (is that his name?), mama's son, could use some extra explaining. Was he actually turned into a robot? Etc. Is he dead for good? I'm guessing that will turn up in the next book. All in all, still a great read.

NERDS, book 2: M is for Mama's Boy

Simon thought his former team would join him and seek revenge against the world's bullies. Instead, the NERDS won't stop trying to foil him at every turn. He teams up with a basement-dwelling, wanna be superhero and his mother, along with a hired goon and a bunch of squirrels to take over the world. Mwah ha ha!

There was not as many puns in this one as the first, but still an enjoyable read. The codes were difficult to do without printing some of them out or writing them down. Overall, a good message about not relying on technology to fight your battles. The title also made me think that Duncan was the Mamas boy, but in reality it was one of his villains who was not very impressive by himself. I did enjoy this second installment of the N.E.R.Ds series so will be continuing.

My kids are loving this series. They're begging me to start the next one, and are loving all the extras online. Super fun.

I liked this one very slightly less than the first one. Funny.

Very good, but it didn't have a surprise ending like the first book, and I was looking forward to that, but the book was good anyway.
