Book Noir

Excellent thriller of a book. This reminded me a lot of Bryan Smith (Depraved, Slowly We Rot, etc.) and his crime stories. The main difference was the main character's introspective nature. We get a feeling for his thoughts and worries as the story progresses. Admittedly, this did slow down the story a bit for me, but it does work here. Of course, the story was topped off with a hell of an ending. Recommended.

The ending kind of bummed me out but it was a great read.

This book is signature Menapace. It wasn't so much a thriller, as a thriller saga. This thriller is very drawn out both for shock and good writing purposes. This book as with many of Menapace's writings is a page turner that will have you at the edge of your seat, being brain screwed, and wondering why you're sending yourself through such torture. Suspense is high, and while there is gore, it doesn't singularly carry the novel. This novel has a seedy premise, though, and remains seedy throughout.

The only literary complaint may be of character motives, but people are sketchy things and act out of a variety of reasons. Nevertheless, I found it highly realistic throughout. That said, if you enjoy suspenseful, mind twisting, thrillers and can go along for the ride this book is definitely for you.
