Smacks of a debut, bad pacing to boot.

This could've been perfect. Everything was perfect. Poppy and Noah were THAT perfect.
WHY?!! I do not believe in soulmates, nor in destiny, but I do believe in true love, and that's something Noah and Poppy share.
I would've loved to read something else with both of them in it, but WHY did THAT have to happen?!
They were perfect for each other!
So instead of five freakin' stars, I gave it a 4.5

Though cheesy at times it was quite enjoyable and their chemistry was great. I was a bit confused as to that sex scene though and some plot parts didn’t quite add up but other than that it was a good read :)

Usually I love Holly Bourne, but this...I can't believe how ridiculous it was. It was a relatively passable teenage romance between relatable Poppy and totally perfect and flawless Noah

Holly Bourne is by far my favourite author of all time and I am well overdue on a reread of her entire catalogue, so where better to start than with her debut. This book is a bit of an anomaly in her backlist as it is so different in genre to the rest of her work. It’s very much magical realism/soft sci-fi which is not necessarily my favourite genre. Despite this, I still had a lot of fun with this book. It’s fast paced and easy to read. I would love to see her revisit this book now that her writing has matured but it still very much fits in her voice and her style that I love so much. The story is simple and still has hints of her characteristic feminist themes throughout. It does read a bit younger than most of her other YA works but it’s still a fun time and I will always have a place in my heart for this lovely book.
