Maturity

If you love romance, but are tired of reading about 20 something's, this is the book for you. This book confirms that as you hit your late thirties, and forties, romance doesn't end.

Mark and Emma have such great chemistry, and such an easy way with each other. Although this relationship would rely qualify as instalove, somehow, it really didn't feel like that. There are also a good amount of steamy, sexy scenes for your reading pleasure.

Include an air of .....I don't really know whether to label it magic, or maybe spiritually, mystery, or what, but it was an unexpected, pleasant surprise. Mark had several moments and Emma had her moment of that magic.

Honestly, it was really a nice change of pace to read about a mature couple who wasn't trying to start a family, just staring a career, searching for themselves, or going through the sometimes crazy emotional ups and downs that are often in New Adult or late twenty, early thirty romances.

I look forward to reading the next book in the Timeless series.

Ok, for those of you that think love ends when you hit the age of 40 (or whatever number), Roxanne St. Claire’s new trilogy within the Barefoot Bay series is here to prove you wrong. These next three novels are all about men some might consider past their prime, but that have finally gotten to a place in their lives where the right woman can make their lives fully complete. Mark Solomon has returned to his small hometown of Mimosa Key for his high school reunion, even though he dreads the experience. He has so many memories of the home he left long ago, primarily revolving around the love of his life, whom he lost to cancer many years before. He has had his one chance at a soul mate so even though he is not a monk, he knows no other woman will ever compare to his Julia; or at least he knows that until Emma Dewitt bursts into his life. Emma’s life has seriously gone downhill in the past month, but she is determined to have a vacation where she can rethink her life goals and hopefully find her true place in the world. She never imagined she would find herself drawn into Mark’s world as his fake fiancé, and she certainly never imagined the attraction between them could be so intense. The moment they are alone together the passionate chemistry between them becomes something that is impossible to deny, but neither of them are willing to risk their hearts. Soon though their attraction and friendship leads to an even more fiery desire and giving in to that heat is the only way to stay sane. But can two people so obviously looking for different things in life find a way to come together and share their hearts? Or is that soul deep connection truly only once in a lifetime?
True to her previous novels, Rocki is the type of author that rips out your heart with pain and sorrow before giving you the HEA that makes a truly great love story. Mark has lived his life freely for a long time now, but he has never forgotten the woman that captured him, heart and soul, when he was just a teenager. I loved how devoted he was to her memory, but I am glad he was finally able to release his pain and finally appreciate the true happiness that his memories could provide him with. He is a sexy, alpha, but sweet gentleman reminiscent of a time gone by when men actually cared about their women and devoted themselves to their love. Even though he is much older than I, even I could appreciate how sexy he was and wouldn’t have minded having him fall in love with me. Seeing him get a second chance at love, truly proving that the space in our hearts is unlimited and immeasurable was beyond perfect. Emma has not been having much luck in the romance department lately—or to be honest in the life department. Finding herself on Mark’s doorstep changes her life forever though and he is just what she needs to prove to herself that she is a woman to be reckoned with. I enjoyed seeing her come out of her shell professionally and once Mark convinced her to trust herself she was able to find her place professionally. These two have it all going for them: passion, friendship, and the understanding of two people that are ready for the next stage in their lives to begin. Having the chance to begin that next phase of life with their perfect mate is just the ticket. I recommend this book to anyone who thinks romance novels are just for the young and highly recommend you come prepared with a whole box of tissues. I LOVED this book and cannot wait for the next one in the trilogy, Barefoot at Moonrise. Keep the magic coming Rocki!

What a great way to start her Timeless Trilogy! This is a sweet story of a widower and a jilted bride finding love unexpectedly at a high school reunion. All set in the wonderful world of Barefoot Bay. Sexy silver fox, Mark, has run from his grief over his wife for 16 years. He's a chivalrous, sweet older man. Emma is a woman who is full of fear. All it takes is meeting the right man to help her overcome those fears.

I received an ARC from the author for my honest review.

In Barefoot at Sunset Roxanne St. Claire has managed, yet again, to raise the bar of what romance should be. This story will bring you to the verge of tears on one page, and have you laughing at the oh-so-relatable human moments on the next. Barefoot at Sunset is about more than a silver fox hero, or a second chance romance, it’s about the belief in happily ever after, love conquers all, and so much more. A page turner from beginning to end, you’ll find yourself quickly checking to see when you’ll next have a chance to sneak away to Barefoot Bay. (Don’t worry, you’ve got time to re-read all your favorites before your next Silver Fox arrives!)

DNF 30% - I usually love older romances, but this older hero was kinda dull.

My love of the Barefoot Bay book universe is no secret amongst my friends. I've yet to be let down and this first book in the Timeless series continues the trend.

Mark Solomon grew up on Mimosa Key, married his soulmate and lost Julia to cancer 16-years ago. He's been running away from his grief that entire time and is back at Barefoot Bay to participate in the planning for the high school's reunion of all classes. A chance meeting with recently jilted Emma DeWitt has the two of them team up to protect him from all of the single ladies interested in being the next Mrs. Solomon.

This may have started as a fake romance but it was a lovely journey to watch from the sidelines. It's a beautiful, clever and fun story that I enjoyed immensely. It was delightful to read about two mature adults coming together in spite of their shared issues. Though not angst free, they work through issues like you would hope to see between two people of an age.

I loved everything about this story and these characters. With the Casa Blanca Resort as a setting, it was just magical. It's great to be back in Barefoot Bay.

Silver Fox time!!

Rocki has done it yet again. How can she make me fall in love with her characters with every new story?

‘Being with a woman had never made him feel guilty before. Or at least it hadn’t made him feel like something inside him had changed. But Emma did. She made him feel like he was breaking the bond with his soul mate…the one whose voice he couldn’t even remember.’

Barefoot at Sunset took us back to gorgeous Barefoot Bay for a class reunion on the sand where bittersweet memories prevailed for one long-time widower. But, lucky for him, he had the opportunity to make new memories when he met a lovely woman who changed his life forever.

This novel kicks off the new Timeless trilogy in the Barefoot Bay series that features a decidedly more mature cast of characters to follow. And boy has it started in spectacular fashion! The all-years class reunion was the perfect catalyst to let us meet silver foxes Mark, Law, and Ken and to set them up with what will become some unforgettable romances.
