I picked this book up because someone on Twitter recommended it to me. I was looking for a lighthearted and fun read that fell in the Historical Genre. What Happens in Scotland by Jennifer McQuiston fit this theme perfectly. I couldn't stop laughing throughout this book. From the moment Georgette hits James with the chamber pot upside the head, all the way to where they are bickering about the money bag he has lost. These two make for an interesting and fun couple.

When they both wake up next to each other in bed naked, neither one of them can remember what happened the night before. Before they can talk about things, she hits him with the chamber pot and runs. The room is trashed and everyone in town is giving her bits and pieces of info to fill in the blanks. The same is happening with James. He is trying to retrace his steps and find out what the heck happened. Come to find out that they are legally married now. I knew from the beginning who was going to be behind it and what caused their memory relapse. The bad guy definitely gets caught and receives his punishment as well.

Overall this was a light, fun, and quick read that will make you want to learn more about the couple and side characters. I do hope that James brother William will get his own story as well.

I liked Georgette and James well enough, the plot was just a bit weak? so much more could have happened in that many pages

Rather cute and I liked the concept but hot damn, did it take half the book for the hero and heroine to have an actual conversation after the first chapter. Too much running about, piecing the events of the previous evening back together, and strange encounters.

When Georgette wakes up naked next to a man she has no memory of she understandably panics, she dresses in a hurry and then grabs something to protect herself before waking the naked man in the bed. When he calls her wife and invites her back to bed she freaks out and breaks a chamber pot over his head and takes off running.
James is woken by his brother to find he has a messy head wound and no memory of last night aside from a vague memory of grey eyes and blond hair, his money is missing and so is his horse.
These 2 spend the day trying to figure out what happened, James with his brother and Georgette with her new foul mouthed maid that she also doesn't remember acquiring, until eventually they find each other again.
These 2 wind up feeling every kind of way about each other in a 24 hr period, it was entertaining and had a bit of a mystery thrown in for suspense.

March was an absolute shit show. The review on Fated Mates made this one seem super fun but ultimately it just didn’t do it for me.

Hi, I read a romance novel.
I know. I KNOW. I needed a quick read for a plane ride, and I got this for $3, so. I was disappointed! In that it was actually well-written and had an engaging plot! Not what I was expecting! There was appallingly little sexytimes, though. Also not what I was expecting.
