Luc and Jen- way to go

Being introduced to Jen and Luc in the Feckers books, I was familiar with their names. But their story and their families are just another example of the interwoven universe that Serena Akeroyd is able to create.
Jen can be annoying to the other characters in the Feckers books, but in this book she comes across as strictly a woman who only sees dollar signs. Luc is absolutely happy to give that to her in order to have her by his side. This book is more intense it seems but still a wonderful part of the universe that has been created. I’ll be reading The Lady to see how the story goes.

Not a fan, started to skim read halfway through just to get to the end. I found the sex scenes incredibly uncomfortable, it made me squirm and I started to skip those scenes. Also, I didn’t particularly like the heroine, I didn’t understand her actions. Why would an accountant working at one of the largest firms in New York, who is apparently super intelligent be sleeping with rich men for their money? You make your own money, and if you’re so smart then invest well and make even more! There’s no need to be sleeping with men you don’t even particularly like just for money, wtf. I actually really liked the hero and thought he deserved a better queen sorry not sorry. I loved his patience and just how besotted he was with her from the start.

I am a big fan of the Filthy series, so I absolutely love that Jen got her own book! Then to not only get her own book but to get a book where she is with a Mafia Don! Hello hotness. Serena knocks It out of the park again, and that cliff hanger. Holy hotness bring on Book 2!

Luciu just came back to reclaim the city his grandfather was chased from and he met Jen. I really love Jen's character - she really embraced who she was. She dated men for money and called a gold-digger and she was unapologetic about it. That is such a fresh story arc in this genre. Luciu himself is ott alpha H that is supposed to be swoon-worthy, and in a way he is. Maybe because it is a first part of a duet, but there were so many unanswered questions in the book, especially the question about who was the wife? I love the overall plot but somehow still feel like there's something missing from the story.

I’m obsessed with mafia/mob type books. Obsessed. The Don did not disappoint!! Luciu was sooooo great! He was everything, for real. Psycho but sweet. Just how I like em! He was sexy and authoritative. Jen was honest about who she was. I loved that about her. She had morals and I just feel like that’s not something you see much in mafia books. I loved that about her too! This book was relatively low angst and sweet and steamy at the same time. It ends on a cliffhanger and I’m SO SO SO thankful we won’t have to wait too long for the conclusion to this duet!!!
