I thought it was more hard core chemistry than it actually was.

Read this book along with my 12 yr old for a chemistry curriculum. It was very informative and the recipes were easy to recreate. We learned a lot about the chemistry of food and cooking.

This book has many interesting facts about the chemistry behind cooking. I think the thing I struggle with the most is that it felt like a somewhat strange mixture of a textbook and a cooking primer, so it didn't really succeed at either.

Interesting refresher of high school chemistry but it reads like a reference book and less like a regular book.

This is more of a chemistry book than a cookbook. It explains why certain things happen when you cook in an immense amount of detail. There was some really interesting content however I found that it was too scientific for my enjoyment; I was not however a big fan of chemistry when I was at school.
