John Constantine continues to be a bit of a prat, as it crosses over with hellblaser, otherwise it is the end of this particular reboot.

This was a nice resolution to this series of Books of Magic.

The first story suffers from a problem that a lot of ongoing serialised comics do - the writer not enough time thinking about the story overall and refining it to be the best version that's presented to the reader. So here the characters lose a lot of robustness. The story moves quite quickly and you kind of feel like you know what they're feeling, but only on a surface level, and the story feels like it resolves itself just because it has to to move on.

The second story is nice in that, while it's brief and doesn't massively impact the overall tale of Tim Hunter, it adds something to the Universe and gives a wider glimpse into the world Tim navigates and could potentially enjoy.

The final story made me feel nervous that the book wouldn't wrap up neatly, with this being the final of the series. However, it feels satisfactory and even gives Tim some resolution in his ongoing quest to work out if he will turn out good or bad in the future, or even just be a balanced adult.
I'm rather sad that the series ends here as Tim Hunter and the world of the Books of Magic has always had a lot of potential and there are so many interesting stories that could be told. Even in this volume we're introduced to new characters who we'll likely never see again.
