3.5? 4? I liked this one better than the first, but I’m still not exactly sure how I should rate it.

One Dark Throne by Kendare Blake is the second book of the young adult high fantasy series, Three Dark Crowns. The three sisters battle for the crown has officially begun. The Ascension Year is here. The events after the Quickening has left everyone confused and on edge. Arisone has to figure out how to deal with her secret of being a poisoner. Mirabella is pushed into dangerous situations. Katharine is back and questionably strong. How will the sisters fare against each other? How will they deal with their weaknesses? Blake does an amazing way to answer these questions while keeping curiosity alive. The third person omniscient writing of this story was a little confusing in the first book. However, the point of view has proven to be the best way to write the story. The characters develop very well and you get to see the dynamics of all of them. The story is developed at a perfect pace. The writing is also very intriguing and engaging. Blake is able to use her words in such a brilliant way that I feel like I am there with the sisters. I would recommend this book to lovers of high fantasy. Especially people who like the Falling Kingdoms series and Game of Thrones.

Kendare Blake has done it again. I couldn't stop reading once I started. The plot was well thought out with surprises in every turned page. I can't wait to read the next book!

It’s kinda boring tbh and I’m not a huge fan of some of the side characters. Like can we plz get some more action between these queens???
