Strange that Emma's last name is Montague and I recently read a book with the main character Tess Monaghan.

I made several notes of things to mention in my review. The way this books ends, though, makes it impossible for me to be critical.

Gosh-this ending was awful. It ruined the entire book. I'm so incredibly disappointed with this read and I love Jane Green.

I think this was a book about family and love and class but the writing was so mechanical and the narrative so choppy. It didn’t have any warmth, the characters weren’t developed enough for me to care about any of them.

Not my favorite. Parts of it were just weird, long descriptions that were repetitive, characters that felt off (Stacy, Jesses parents, Emma’s mom) horrible ending and weird wrap up. That being said I did finish it in like 3 days so it must have been fairly interesting.

I really, really loved this book. I thought it would be an ‘easy’ read after some of the ones I’ve read recently but it was so beautifully written, complex and real. It made me chuckle, smile but also sadness and some other uneasy emotions. Very thoroughly enjoyed this!!

I mean….. i appreciate that the book is a different ending and that the author provided a different sort of love for Emma. But really??? Did you have to kill off Dominic?

The ending broke me. 💔 I wasn't expecting such a tragic event based on the first two acts of the story. I feel a bit deceived and certainly triggered.
