Graphic modern adaptation of Jane Eyre. Beautiful, moody use of color in the art, and the adaptation itself is...fine. I enjoyed reading it, even though it doesn't really have that fresh or interesting a take on the source material.
But then, it's hard to reinterpret something that's already perfect.

I loved the artwork, but the retelling fell a bit flat too me—I think I have too much of an attachment to the original Jane Eyre story for this particular version to hit home.

This graphic novel is a modern reimagining of Jane Eyre (one of my favorite classics). In this story, Jane moves to the big city to go to art school and gets a job as a Nanny.
It was a quick read (I was able to finish it in under an hour). It seemed like the story was rushed. There wasn’t that slow build of tension that I was find if in Jane Eyre.

The art style is the best I've ever seen in a graphic novel by far. This made me want to read Jane Eyre ASAP now even though I had no idea it was a retelling until I read a few pages. I didn't know what to expect for the majority of the book, and I loved that it kept me on my toes.

I love Jane Eyre but this just wasn’t it. The romance felt rushed and the ending was just a little too far off the source material. I get it was modernized and a different format but it was just not the best.

This book has beautiful artwork, it really does. And I was supposed to read Jane Eyre for school but didn't finish it. From what I know though, this is a loose retelling. While there was one part that caught me off guard, I felt bored overall.

This was fine. It was a modern Jane Eyre retelling, and was recognizable. This particular graphic novel, though, did not manage to encapsulate the emotion and depth of the full novel, so it fell flat.
