What made this book awful for me wasn't the graphic sexual scenes, but pretty much everything else. It reads like a 13-year-old boy wrote it after having his first girlfriend for a week, in my opinion. The language is immature and I felt like I was reading bad fanfiction throughout the entire book. For example, I must have read the words "baby" and "fucking" about 1,000 times each because the language is so much like a teenage boy's. I understand that it's from the point of view of two teenagers, but I honestly don't know anyone who talks or thinks like the characters in this book. Furthermore, the storyline is highly unrealistic and underdeveloped, with plot holes destroying the story.

Wow...that is definately one of the most Dark YA novels I've ever read. Amazing.

Because this is my review system, I am giving this book -100000000000000 soups out of 5. This book was god awful. DO NOT READ THIS BOOK. Gina is, predictably, r*ped by a son of a really rich, really powerful man. She and her boyfriend go on the run after she kills him, rightfully so. This book was horrible. It was poorly written, the plot was fucked up. The results were horrifying. Was he trying to be edgy and be like “Oh tHis Is ReAL liFE” NO. SHUT THE FUCK UP. I HATE YOU. I HATE YOU AS AN AUTHOR I HATE YOU AS A PERSON. Literally these are two kids, the boyfriend, Dru, is 16 turning 17. The girlfriend, Gina, is 17. These are KIDS and every other chapter is about sex, rape, death, money and power, or how much they love each other. This is quite possibly the worst book I have ever read. I’m crying.
I can see that there might be an underlying message, sure. But the shock factors that he uses, the absolute devastation of the ending, the results, the bad guy prevailing, it feels worthless. It makes me hate life and living. Who would ever want to read something like this? It's so graphic. LITERALLY HOW IS THIS BOOK YA? LIKE WHAT?
Fuck you Jason Myers. Sincerely. Fuck. You.
These kids went through all of this trouble, all of this horrible awful shit, just for Gina to be raped AGAIN and then for the two kids to kill themselves. I literally cannot fathom how this author is making money and continuing to have a career as an author. I despise this man. This book was horrible. Maybe it is life, maybe, but this is a grown ass man who wrote a book about two children obsessed with sex and each other, he writes about a seventeen year old’s rape, and then slits their throats and wrists. Does this guy get off on writing this? I’m just so appalled, disgusted by this book. I finished it. I don’t know why I did. I regret everything. I feel sick to my stomach. Please, for the love of anything you hold near and dear, DO. NOT. READ. THIS. BOOK.

In reality this book deserves 1 star because the writing was just terrible. But since the story line was suspenseful, it kept me interested and wanting to read. i got where Myers was trying to go with writing the book the way he dd, short chapters but that may work for writers like Ellen Hopkins but it did not work for this book.
The writing was just vulgar and bad. How is it that this was even published? Theirs really nothing good about the writing. The characters are not fully developed, the plot line was rushed. I picked up this book because someone reviewed it and said how amazing it was but I'm sitting here truly suprised because I can't find whats amazing about this book besides the fact that I actually finished it and can move on to real novels.

This book is good. I will give it that. But this is most definitely not a young adult book. This book would be hardcore for anyone still in required schooling. As a thirteen year old, I was shocked by the sexual acts that happened. The violent swearing also surprised me. I started and finished this book in 4 hours, not because I planned to, but because I was too scared not to. This book is gruesome and details horrible things. There is blood and gore and despair. I would NOT recommend this book to any teenager. I would consider it maybe a pornographic novel or detailed book on how to kill or manhunt people.
I honestly feel like this book took a good chunk of my innocence from me.
Besides the gruesome story and horrific pornography, I rather liked the charecterizations. The plotline could have been mellowed and this could have made a very nice YA book. But the main topic was death, death, sex, death, money, sex, death and corruption. I don't think this book is appropiate for anybody under 18, and even above 18, if you are at all sensitive or easily scared, don't read it. I finished the book at 1 am or so, and finally managed to sleep at 3 am, despite my fear.

it was just so not good i had to finish it quickly to get it over with, the action and second half definitely is the only reason it deserves a 2nd star because it actually took some of my attention more but most of the rest of this was pure awful.

I don't know where to start with how horrible this book is. The grammar mistakes are horrifying, and entire words get misplaced.
