My Rating: 4/5 stars

I had a hard time deciding on a rating for this anthology, because while I really liked some of the stories, some I didn't care for at all. It was not that the stories were written poorly, I just did not connect with all of them.

Christina Escamilla has a very distinct writing style, which I enjoyed, that carried over each short story. She has a way of painting a picture with just the right amount of words as to keep readers engaged, without drowning them in the small details.

The stories were morbid and dark, without being graphically disturbing. They were vague enough that readers could (at times) come to their own conclusions, without being confusing or leaving things too open ended. They also tug at your heartstrings at times, and make you want to call your mother just to say "Hello" and "I love you". Each story is powerful in its own way, and I honestly believe that tat least one of them will speak to you, and tug at your emotions.
