Becky Chambers you legend you've done it. You've made me love a short story
"Why did death feel easier, nobler?" Hit me real hard. Suffering for others feels so noble

Chambers has a skill for creating storylines and characters that are literally out of this world yet at the same time stunningly relevant to real life challenges on an emotional level. In short, I am crying!
Graphic: Forced institutionalization, Mental illness, Terminal illness, and Medical content
Moderate: Animal death, Grief, and Animal cruelty
Minor: Death of parent

I really liked this one.
I didn’t really know what to make of Mas in The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet or about how she influenced the crew. Mostly because I (of course) had no idea or only very little idea about what any of the things were about, that happened around her, and also from the perspective of Ohan (or their reaction to the news) she seemed pretty forceful, but now reading Mas’s story I feel like I understand her a lot better, and I also like that we got to know more about Pairs and just in general a little more about how all of this works. I thought it was really interesting and also I really liked Mas and also the characters around Mas and how everything was presented. I would have loved to read even more about this whole thing and really wouldn’t have minded a longer story than this, but even in so little pages the story was great and I was very fascinated and hooked. Loved it.
