I really enjoyed this Rick Riordan Presents entry. While this book delves into Chinese folktales and mythology like most entries in this imprint, Lee does it in a far more whimsical way (appropriate for a book with this title.) Winston has a fully fleshed out friend crew and a supportive family. On top of that, the "whimsies" that Winston deals with target things that he hand his family cherish, things that have sentimental value atteched to the memory of his deceased father which really got me.

Teamwork, trauma, and some qui-work all found within these pages. It really feels like this story needs to or wants to continue in another book. So I hope that's the case and that Winston starts learning to play the uke!
