Someone (I don't remember who) eagerly recommend me this, and even though I wasn't very interested in reading it, I finally resolved to see what the fuss was about. Well, I don't get it. The characters are, in my opinion, nut jobs who need to chillax a bit and the story was just nothing special. But, what the hell, I don't know how Moore does it, but I want to keep reading to see where the characters are headed (maybe the madhouse). So, I'll probably read the next volume and we'll see.

Promising debut work filled with delightfully engaging and different characters--the women more fully formed than almost all in cartoon history--and dealing with topics of domestic abuse. It was probably a bit more soap opera than I liked, but there is a great warmth at work here despite the grim tone of much of it, even if it occasionally lapses into bathos.

This was so disappointing - it was a boring, sexist mess where nothing of interest happened. Everyone was a stereotype with no character development, and if there was a chance for female nudity, it was taken.
So glad I borrowed this, instead of buying it.
TW for nudity, sexism, mild homophobia, cheating, implied sex, car accidents, concussion, threats of injury.

I saw this in the library and thought I would give it a try. A graphic novel that was more realistic was something new for me. Unfortunately I cannot deem this experiment a success. While others might like this, I found the story to be not to my taste.

Got this for $5 at Danger Room. I'd read SinP before, but it's nice to have the very beginning on my shelf. Moore does a really interesting job of establishing characters and his way of drawing women is very unique. Great graphic fiction. Also, cool special features showing strips that include previous incarnations of the main characters.

I don't know; this was just bizarre.

This was a weird eclectic book, but I enjoyed it. It should come with a lot of trigger warnings, but it also was a powerful comic book for women. I can see many women feeling empowered from it. I can also see that some may be offended, but I think most would feel that it is empowering.
