I always have to laugh so hard on how Riordan manages to transfer gods to the present, including their ancient quips and quirks. Ra being ancient and senile made for a hilarious Ra in this book. The story was really entertaining, and I really liked the role of Desjardin. The only downside is that the kids are very young (especially Sadie) for what they're doing, maybe a bit too young...

I'm still debating which series I like better - Percy Jackson or The Kane Chronicles. Right now, the Kane Chronicles may be winning. I have one more book before I make my final decision. I know I like this series better than The Heroes of Olympus, though that was a good read.

This book was completely boring for the first half. It took me MONTHS to get through the first 130 pages. Once there, the action picked up, but I felt like the writing went downhill. I personally didn't like how many of the gods were portrayed, or how the action scenes were told. There would be tons pf description for one part of the book, probably more than was needed or WANTED. Then, in a really important part, it would vaguely say what happened, then move on. This frustrated me. My one consolation was that this made the book end more quickly.
