While not as strong as the first book, I think this was still a great read. It had great pacing and I really felt like I was rereading it. I would say that I really liked that you felt the toll that their adventures had taken on the characters. The dynamic between Carter and Sadie was great as always and I liked Riordan’s dialogue.

Egyptian mythology/history is a rich vein, and Riordan continues to dig out ores (like the thing when King Tut's father decided to go monotheist for Aten and then Tut restored Amun-Ra and the pantheon etc.) This one felt like it took longer but it's also a longer book in general. Still enjoying the dual narrators.

I think it could’ve been shorter also I get the siblings age gap but 13 is too young to do all that and the supposed love triangle was crazy 😝 I was devastated at the death of loving Characters but I do hope to read the next one hopefully we get closure.
