Souls is a collection of short (and not-so short) stories that range from magical to strange to downright horrifying. Readers will find at least one story to enjoy within the pages of this collection. Each story is unique and well-written, and I liked most of them. There were a couple that didn't quite resonate with me, but that's to be expected when you have a collection of stories that differ in genre.

These were the ones I enjoyed the most:

My Lover Like Night - a short Rapunzel retelling with a twist. I kinda wish this was a full-blown novel. How great would that be?

Death and the Horse - an "origin story" about Death and his pale horse.

Stone Baby - a horrifying story about being pregnant

The Ghosts of Acadia - an odd story about wanting to leave real life behind to live in the woods

The Greeley Street Apothecary - a magical story about reality

If you're a fan of stories that don't necessarily have a one size fits all vibe to them, check out Souls. You're sure to find something that will thrill you.

4 stars!
