It was okay, but definitely the weakest link of the Dawn of X. Kinda rushed through it. Cable and Laura deserve better.

The biggest Hickman-X stumble so far. The writing was very pretentious and Kudranski's art is not my taste. I feel badly for the fans of any of the characters in this series.

No matter how great the other Dawn of X books were, there will always be an odd one out - and this is the one. This is by far the worst book Marvel has published in a few years. Neither the story, nor the writing or the art (which is just one huge eye sore) made any sense. Save your money and don't buy this one. Save your time and don't read it, even for free. Don't make the same mistake I did.

I didn't really feel like this was particularly necessary to read whatsoever. Still better than New Mutants though!

I figured that this was going to be dark but my lord is it DARK so far! Strong start to the series with a great duo in Psylocke and X-23. Can’t wait to see how our story unfolds!

More than anything, Fallen Angels suffers from being published at the wrong place and time. With so many great other stories coming from the Dawn of X, Fallen Angels just pales in comparison. It's not exactly bad, just obscure and mediocre with a confusing plot. It's not helped by the art style either, which is so dark and damp it hardly feels like a colored comic.

Despite Kwannon/Psylocke's continuity can of worms and all the bullshit of her relationship with Betsy Braddock, she has always been a cool character and this series actually does a solid job of providing the essentials of her backstory and relationship with Betsy, along with some great character moments and conversations with Mister Sinister and Magneto. However, same amount of thought is not provided to either Laura Kinney/X23, whose characterization and character development through the last decade actually regresses a bit, or to Young Cable, who just takes an L every time you see him.

I enjoyed the start and initial premise (mutants that didn’t fit in on peaceful Krakoa) but it never lived up to that. Often the art was atrocious, with everyone looking like they were 12, and way too many close ups on mouths. They were going for some sort of spiritualism that never hit. Psylocke had no depth, other than being “really good killer”, which is fine if you’re going to do really good kills, but not an introspective, meditative story.
