one of my professors in college would not shut up about this book. literally mentioned it every other lecture and this has been on my to read ever since. don’t think i can recommend. definitely was way more academic and medical than was describe to me. also like each section was really detailed, but then ended without a conclusion. i think was more relevant when it first came out but now feels outdated with all the evidence and references being from the 80s.

„One's soul is 'harmonical' whatever one's IQ, and perhaps the need to find or feel some ultimate harmony or order is a universal of the mind, whatever its powers, and whatever form it takes.“

Even though I‘m probably not the right target group for this book, it moved me and opened my eyes in many ways.

Bullet Review:

A nifty little book that discusses the various ways our bodies can mess up and how we try to overcome it anyway. For those of us unaffected by the myriad ways our neurons can crossfire, this was eye-opening, challenging, and also reflective. How are we like Jimmy, living in the past? How are we like the twins, communicating in our own way?

A book that goes to show you, just because you do science, doesn't mean you are unable to think deep thoughts and write them in a beautiful manner.

Most stories are colorful, but in the end I was just not drawn in.
