It is an amazing book about love, friendship, coming of age, and grief. I read this book in one sitting, and gladfully so. As I was reading, I felt as though this book was moving so fast yet so slow simultaneously (not bad). I would have loved loved loved, if this book was more than 236 pages, although, I've been saying that very often about books lately. The book could have been extended past where it ended, I would have loved to see Marin's
choice for moving in with Mabel's family,
more on Marin's love life, college life, and work at
the pottery shop
Having said all of that, this was the most touching and tear pulling book I have read in a long time.

This was lovely and heartbreaking and hopeful and beautifully written and everything that I’d hoped it would be.

I just read We Are Okay by Nina LaCour and I have feels…. ALL OF THEM.

This a story about grief and loss but also about healing. A story that portrays all forms that love can take in a really beautiful way.

As someone who has dealt with grief and loss, Marin’s grieving process, thoughts and behaviours come across as extremely genuine.
I wish I had read it at that time because I never read about someone having reactions to it as similar as mine.
It was like looking in the mirror to be honest.

Another thing I really appreciated was the relationship between Marin and Mabel. How it seems so natural and realistic. I really like how the relationship is put forth, and there is no need for a "coming out” moment.
