This book was so good and so heartbreaking. The relationship between marin and  her grandpa is so wholesome but  the twist at the end of the book put a bad feeling deep   in my stomach. The character development was so good and the w/w romance was so good without feeling sexualized or romanticized. I think it touches on a really romanticized idea which is leaving everything behind and shows how abosultely  terrifying and horrible that can actually be. Just an amazing book about grief and sadness but deep sadness.

”I wonder if there’s a secret current that connects people who have lost something. Not in the way that everyone loses something, but in the way that undoes your life, undoes your self, so that when you look at your face it isn’t yours anymore.”

“If only lonely were a more accurate word. It should sound much less pretty.”
