I've got to say that this book started off really good and then was just long and dry in the middle, but then picked up again at the end. There is a decent bit of world building, and some pretty easy predictable foreshadowing (at least I think so, I need to read the next book to see if I'm right.) But the story overall is solid. It's just that there is a pretty big lul as far as pacing goes in the middle. The MC gets encumbered with a ton of side quest, and the fact that the players in the game seem to be jerks so far. What I do like about this game is the fact that there are certain characters that are players, but had their memories completely wiped and even if they are pulled out of the game, they will retain the false memories instead of their own. So, they are essentially trapped in the game, and there's one more catch, but I'll let you get to it on your own if you read it. Like I said, not the best book, but a fairly decent book. Don't be fooled by 3 stars. This means I do in fact like the book, but this wouldn't be the first thing I would recommend. More like the 3rd of 4th book.
