I won this book in a Goodreads giveaway, and was thrilled, as I'd read and enjoyed the first 3 in this series.

This one was just as good! Inspector Ramirez' fourth case was just as compelling as the others, although this time it was a touch more action-packed, featuring Russian plots and counterplots. I loved the twisty, un-figure-out-able mystery. And also enjoyed the deepening of the characters of Ramirez, his friend Apiro, and a few more of the side characters. Plus the way that it informs the reader of daily life in Cuba is really unmissable. Recommended!

The very believable political intrigue in this novel is enhanced by the descriptions of life in current Cuba. Ramirez has the assistance of a new ally, this time Russian. I knew it had to come but I missed Charlie Pike, a character from earlier novels.
