I can’t lie, I really enjoyed this book. As a white woman, I think there’s so much that I’ve learnt from this book, things I didn’t even think to think about before. It’s definitely an eye opener.

Personally, I was missing some self-reflection — some of these situations she’s went through were tough and were bad but how did it affect her? Her thoughts, how she viewed the world? Ultimately I think that’s what I’d want to impart on the next generation — how do we take what we see happening to others, what has happened to us, and ensure we’re not upholding the same systems. This necessitates learning about the systems, of course, but I wanted more depth from her
