I have finally caught up with this series and feel like a huge weight has been lifted from my shoulders. Of course I am shocked, surprised, apalled, happy, and even sad about many of the events in this book (of which are really too many to name all).
Spoiler
Good riddance to Cersei, but I am really wishing for the downfall of Ramsey. What a evil, creepy person. Also JON! No. I am so sad and will have to tell myself he's not actually dead. Mr. Martin has a wonderful talent for showing us something amazing and then snatching away the ending, making us wait for more news in agony for many pages. As always, everyone's lives are at cliff hangers until the next book.28hdt's review against another edition

Phenominal book. If you have read the other books of the series, you must read this one. It brings back all of the characters from previous books, and adds a couple new ones. It stays exciting right up through the epilogue. The language is, as ever, awesome; and the world remains the most detailed and complete of any fantasy book that I have read. The multiple religions also continue to play a larger and larger role in the book. Overall, I highly recomend it.
P.S. if you are just starting the series, you absolutely must start with the first book (A GAME OF THRONES) or you will be hopelessly lost and it will ruin the series. And the first book is equally amazing as any of the other books.

Reading this one was work. There were bits I liked, but it just dragged on so much that I found myself skim reading sections.
