So auch in "Best I've Ever Had".

Abbi Glines is a go-to romance author for me. I love her easy romances, throwing me back into the world that I enjoyed so much when I was reading the Rosemary Beach and Sea Breeze book series. I can guarantee I will enjoy any of Abbi Glines books every time I pick them up. They help me get out of any book slump, especially since I've been on a fantasy binge at the minute, so it was nice to have this break and jump back into the world of Eli and Ophelia.

Eli has had a rocky ride through the previous two books with Bliss and Lila Kate so I was glad he managed to finally get his HEA. However, I wanted to know more about his trauma within those 6 months of him disappearing. There wasn't enough information about this monumental moment in his life to make him so jaded and judgemental on the type of love he is able to accept or should accept. If the book was longer I would have been able to dive into Eli's and Ophelia's relationship more and become so much more connected to them. Everything seemed to be brief and I wanted so much more. I wanted Abbi to tear my heart out as she did in Rush and Blaire's book or any of the OG's. Ophelia was the perfect partner in crime for Eli and it would have been great to see Nate be more protective of her but he knew she could take care of herself and actually feared more for Eli.

Overall I did enjoy their story but I wanted more and I needed to connect with them in some way on a more emotional level.

I’ve read almost every word she’s written but she managed to capture me, twist me and shock me. My one click wonder 👏🏻❤️

I don't know why I picked this up given the first 2 in this series were a bust for me. Anyway this angst filled hero seemed a little too emo and when it's endless its boring. The noble idiot moment at the end of the book lost it a star
