I have no doubt that some of the story went over my head, what stood out most to me (besides the ending,  ofc) was that Leila would rather believe in an apocalypse than that she killed her family

Wow. This book caught me by surprise as I normally don't read sci-fi or psychological horror. The pacing was well done, the way the story was told gripped me immediately, and the ending was satisfying in a way that makes me speechless. 

I was reminded of The Things They Carried and 28 Days Later while I read this, so if you like media similar to those then this book is for you. 

I'm surprised how much I feel and how little I have to say, another rarity for me. The shorter length was perfect for the story and I honestly wouldn't change anything about this book.

I loved this book!!! It's very subtle in the storytelling, and I actually really liked that. I love the shifting in tone when you finally understand what happens. This is definitely my kind of book.

A short but intriguing novella about an infection that causes people to kill each other based on false narratives they take as reality. The narrator starts off stating he shouldn’t be trusted or believed and the story twists from there. A fun and eerie novella that made me think about perception and how it determines are reality.

would definitely recommend! very well written with some unique takes and evolutions on the traditional fourth wall break. interesting concept and overall great read. just left a little more to be desired in terms of the horror aspect but i know the avoidance of traditional horror scenes were a stylistic choice.
