I enjoyed this audiobook more than I thought I would. It took me a minute to get into the story and at times the narrators' doing other characters' voices were cringey. The story, though, was fantastic.
I really liked Cordelia and Niall. They started off on the wrong foot, but the chemistry was there. Maybe a bit of a slow burn, but the spice was done so well.
The small knit community in Ireland was everything I wanted.
I was a little annoyed at the 3rd act breakup though. I always hate when one or the other breaks it off 'because it's best for the other.'

Keep in mind this is 3rd person dual pov, so if that's not your thing, maybe skip it.

Such a sweet book! A photographer travels to Ireland for a summer to reignite her creative spark, falls for an Irish chef, and has to decide whether to try to make it work. Loved the ending so much! Great tropes and not much miscommunication 🙌🏼

The narrators were good, and I loved the Irish family! There’s a sassy grandma and everyone loves that. I appreciated the healing that went on with both of the MCs families over the course of the book. Well done, Amy!

This was a super lovely listen! I loved Keval’s male voices!  But his female characters are… interesting 😅.  Good thing June makes up for most of it! Lol. Keval’s female characters didnt bother me enough to not like the book, but made me LOL at times.

Now for the story itself.  It was really sweet.  Cordelia & Niall definitely started off on the wrong foot!  But since its a small island and they keep getting thrown together… it’s almost inevitable they may start to see each other in a new light.  They’re different but also are dealing with the same things too…. Finding their way out of their grief.

A cute and tender romance novel with lovable main characters, a charming small town and silly dialogue. I enjoyed this novel

This book was perfect! It was such a comfort that I could just curl up to it with a tea in my hand. I love an overseas romance with grumpy x sunshine and this book did it well! I’m so glad I read it and would recommend it to anyone looking for a romance set in Ireland.

Niall and Cordelia

I adored The Irish Goodbye! I found it to be very reminiscent of The Highland Fling by Meghan Quinn which is my favourite MQ book!

This is a hate to lovers romance, and the way Cordelia and Niall hate one another in the beginning is so good! When Cordelia comes across the opportunity to escape her life and hopefully her grief on a small island in Ireland, she is hoping to find her love for photography again.

Niall has returned home to his small town and is dealing with the shame of his dream falling through thanks to his business partner and girlfriend ruining his opportunities.

I appreciated that we got to dive into the family dynamics of both Cordelia and Niall's families. They each have uniquely strained relationships with their parents and I love that we had the opportunity to learn more about how these relationships affected and moulded the characters.

The side characters in this charming small town truly brought the setting to life. They were so fun to read about.

I loved that while navigating her grief, Cordelia found her love for photography and telling stories through her photos with all the wonderful people in the adorable small town.

Keval Shah and June DeBorahae both delivered on their performances. They breathed life into the characters and I loved listening to their accents!

The vibes and setting of The Irish Goodbye are worth a recommendation all on their own.  I listened to this audiobook over a couple days of cold rain and wind, cozied up in a warm cabin.  It is a great choice for a lighthearted romance on a cozy day of hiding away from the rain.

While the vibes were excellent and the side characters were endearing and lovable, I did have a few issues with the romance itself.  One of the tropes I have trouble connecting with is insta-love.  Insta-lust, yea, I can vibe with that.  Insta-love?  That one I struggle with. I just don't find it all that relatable and can be tip into the realm of cringy or even DNF.  The insta-love found here wasn't cringy, but it did feel like a bit more of a plot device than a natural progression of the relationship.

Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for an advanced listener copy of this audiobook.  My opinions are my own and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Hello, to The Irish Goodbye! This book was lots of fun, the setting was beautiful the characters were great. And most importantly the romance was adorable!
The Audio version of this book was a dream! The Irish accents were great and on certain characters extremely hot. I loved the Dual POV of this story and the Dual Narration just made this book all the more compelling. The plot wasn’t anything unique but it was well written and really enjoyable, I found myself flying through this listen the biggest grin on my face. Both narrators were excellent.
I loved this story, the Ireland setting made me feel so at home, the saying and one liners from the characters had me feeling like I was at a family Christmas with my Irish nan . The author did a wonderful job of encapsulating that Irish culture and bringing it to life in this book.
Anyone else gushing over the grass ring? Just me? Okay cool… haha. This book was super sweet and I loved that they both had passions that they shared with each other. And respected about each other.
I did wish we got a bit more build up in their emotional connection which is the reason this one didn’t reach higher than a 4 star for me. However it was a really enjoyable romance and a super fun audiobook experience. Would definitely recommend the audiobook if you like me love an Irishman.
