Cute. Nice continuation of book one. Didnt leave a cliff hanger (annoying when that happens) at the end...hoorah! Great characters and good flow. Will be picking up the third for sure.

P.s. I started to read some of the other reviews and they cracked me up (lots of discrepancies in the book, but it was a light read so i forgave. Haha!). If you're looking for a heavy read, this probably isnt the book for you (haha!)

I just can't get enough of the fun life of LeeLee Satterfield. This is the second book in the series - in the first, LeeLee is dragged by her husband to Vermont from sunny Memphis, after he reveals to her that his lifelong dream is to abandon the insurance business and run a bed and breakfast up north. After all the trials and triumphs from the first book, we now find LeeLee back home in Memphis, afloat and unsure what to do next.

At the end of the first book, we are left with a bit of a cliffhanger. This cliffhanger event actually doesn't pick back up until the very end of this second book. This means that throughout this second book, we all know what's going to happen at the end. And though this is slightly annoying (I found myself just waiting for the main character to figure out what I already knew and just get on with it.) it didn't make the rest of the book any less enjoyable. The characters are all just so much fun to be around. I desperately wish I had a group of friends like LeeLee's; they're fantastic in every way.

This book is full of yet another mixture of hilarious and sad situations that often make up a full life, and I found myself engrossed. I can't wait to continue LeeLee's story in the third book, which I will be picking up from the library tonight.

I recommend this book for anybody looking for a relatively quick, heartfelt read, full of the ups and downs of real life, and of course, a splash of romance.

this was a sequel to Whistlin Dixie in a Nor'easter. I won this one from Goodreads and finally got around to reading it. I loved the first book and this one was pretty darn good also.

This is the sequel to Whistlin' Dixie in a Nor'Easter. This book could be read asa stand along since the beginning does bring you up to date on Leelee Satterfield's story but I would recommend reading both books in order. Why would you want to miss out on the fun?

This book picks up with Leelee arriving back home in Memphis. It doesn't take Leelee long to realize that life as she knew it in Memphis is about to change. She is now a single mother who needs to support her daughters and find a place to live. I admired how Leelee picked up her boot straps and took care of business, in her usual hilarious way. Leelee once again charmed her way into my heart and had me laughing.

Lisa Patton has introduced us to some new characters in this book while bringing back some old faces from the previous book. In this book we get to see more of Leelee's best friends, who are just as entertaining as Leelee. We also get to see more of Kissie, the woman who was hired to care for Leelee as a baby. Such a wonderful, gentle soul. There is also Riley, Leelee's extremely, annoying neighbor. I really wanted to wring his neck. Leelee has the patience of a saint with him. Not so sure I could have been as gracious. There are also many quirky characters where Leelee finds a job at a radio station. Wherever Leelee goes, fun is sure to follow.

This is another heartwarming, fun story. I hope Lisa Patton isn't done writing about Leelee yet! Leelee's story can brighten even the darkest day! It's pure adorable, Southern fun!

I enjoyed this series. I have to say though that the timing in the is book confused me. I thought it took place in current time (cell phones, SUV's, etc.), but then its mentioned that the girls went to see James Taylor in 1970, were dancing to Diana Ross on American Bandstand. I couldn't figure out when this was supposed to take place. I guess I just assumed the 1st book took place now.

It was entertaining, I just found the above a little distracting.

Not as good as the first one. Story seemed predictable and poorly written.

I am not convinced the same person who wrote book one, also wrote this one. The plot was basically non existent, and repeated the same scenes over and over. There's also some pretty big plot inconsistencies. Overall, there just wasn't much here. But since I loved book one, I will continue on to book 3. Hopefully book 3 recaptures the magic of Whistlin' Dixie
