Road trip audio book. Really a 3.5 rating. My first Brad Thor book and it was a good one for driving. Scot Horvath is a badass history professor, (former seal and now CIA). He is sent to Ukraine to save a kidnapped American citizen. She was kidnapped by a rogue military group that was formerly in the Wagner Group. This is a barbaric group of mental patients and criminals. They desert the Russian army to loot and pillage art and antiquities. Along the way they commit rape and murder and are completely barbaric. Scot is allocated 5 men to be his team. They are all hired soldiers from Canada, England and the US. Of course Scot kicks ass and takes out several men at one time. The secondary story concerns a former US senator who is being used by the Russians to get information and to influence legislative action. It was just a bit disturbing how current the information was concerning the actions of Russia and other non-NATO countries. Thor either has an inside source or is well connected and has a great imagination.

It’s not thought-provoking or deep, but it *is* entertaining! I blew through this one.

This was not my favorite of the series, but as usual it was another entertaining and fast-paced story with non-stop action throughout. Thor has some of the best characters in the game.
