What had started out as an interesting series and world I wanted to explore quickly turned into a mouthful of sand in the second book. There was a lot going on, no explanations, and no love built up for any of the characters. I was appalled at the nosedive this series took. Towards the very end the pace seemed to pick up, just enough where I figured I’d trudge on to the third book and finish the series. But you could practically skip this book and not be missing much at all between the first and the third books.

I managed to snag and advance copy of this and it’s TO DIE FOR! Return to Letum Wood for the craziest adventure yet. You won’t want to miss it.

Every time Katie Cross publishes another book, I wonder how she’s going to make it better than the ones before (she always does). This time, FLIGHT soared above and beyond my expectations.
Weaving together the stories of the Sisterwitches, Sanna and Isadora, the reader follows them on their individual journeys to embrace their magic, save their friends, and become who they are meant to be. Full of power, magic, dragons, and emotional moments, FLIGHT is an amazing read that I will recommend to all of my witchy friends forever.
I hope you pick up this trilogy because, if the second book was this amazing, I cannot wait to see what Katie does with the final book, FREEDOM.

Deep magic and wild dragons were just the beginning

Flame introduced us to twin sisters, Isadora and Sanna, who both have a magical connection to the world of Antebellum running through their veins, though it manifests in vastly different ways. With their world turned upside down after the events of Flame, events drive them toward their respective destinies, but the journeys are anything but easy. From sweltering deserts to living forests and magical islands, the world of Antebellum comes to life in the vivid strokes of Katie Cross’ skilled pen.

Sanna and her bonded dragon, Luteis (who is simply wonderful), fight to save the forest dragons and the tattered remains of the dragon servants from annihilation while rediscovering the power of dragonmaster magic thought lost.

Isadora, meanwhile, gets thrown into a deadly battle between Watchers and Defenders, and the lives of more than one Watcher depend on her ability to master the enigmatic magic of the paths.
The personal growth both sisters undergo in Flight is both touching and heartwarming. Nothing is easy, nothing is how they wanted it, and there’s no one to show them the way forward. But when it matters most, they each step up to not merely fulfill the roles asked of them, but to proudly own their power.
