The two stories contained in this collection are fairly stand-alone and re-inforce the fact that Artifacts is its own series and not just a Top Cow cross-over event. The first arc focuses on the new Heart Stone bearer and some strange goings-on at a small-town hospital, in which Tom and Tilly ultimately play a very small role. The second story is a murder-mystery set in Washington D.C. and serves as a stand-alone arc for Tom and Tilly, which no other bearers crossing over. Though both are decent tales, neither is particularly memorable.

It is interesting to see Tom actually doing God's work in the latter, though the exorcism scene drags on for a couple pages too long, in my opinion. Still, I like the fact that the series is slowly shifting away from the heav hitters of Top Cow universe to give Tom and Tilly their own free-standing series, while still remaining the thread that ties everyone else together.
