Does the fact that these comics aren't especially doing it for me mean I'm an evil adult?

Just asking for a friend.

I like the best friend dynamics in this one, at least. The Abigail storyline was particularly fantastic.

Runaways has been my favorite comic series since I first started reading it. This volume cements Runaways as one of my favorite works of fiction.

I love it so much. Victor’s various modes of transportation had me weak!

Somehow even better than the first one. Reminds me what I liked about comics and sci-fi in the first place.

5/5 stars:

I am so happy I finally picked up this volume! I loved it with all my heart!

The first volume, as I think I said in my review, was very introductory, but this second one feels a lot more developed. We already get to see the dynamics between the characters and the conflicts that are going to drive them through the story. It really is so good!

I am absolutely in love with the art style, btw. It’s so incredibly beautiful.

And oh my god Karolina and Nico. THEY ARE SO PRECIOUS AND BEAUTIFUL AND I CAN’T WAIT TO READ MORE OF THEM.

I hope I’ll be able to pick up volume 3 soon!

I love how honest this book is about love, friendship, and growing up. Life for the Runaways isn’t simple. Their pasts aren’t washed away by the present. Victor lives with the guilt of what he’s done and the fear of what he might do. Nico and Karoline struggle with relationships and their past. Molly considers her unique place in their family. It’s probably as good as the series had been since the first three volumes by BKV. I’d like to see some superheroics eventually, but I’m more than happy to develop the characters more.

I liked Best Friends Forever even better than the first volume, maybe because there was less exposition. Didn't even mind not knowing WTF a Power Pack is.

Always get nervous when I really dig an illustrator, afraid TPTB are going to switch over to someone who draws all faces the same or whatever AT ANY MOMENT. I love the combo of Rowell/Anka, though, so I hope that doesn't happen. No whammies.

Runaways haven’t been this good since Brian K Vaughn created them! I’m loving Rainbow Rowell’s vision for them and can’t wait to see what happens next!
