I really like this novel. It was really good Johanna is a badass heroine. I can't wait to read the rest of the series.

Interesting series, wish it had a better ending. I don't usually like superhero type books, but this one had a good plot to it and a lot of good twists.

I enjoyed this. Her writing is simple, not provocative, but creative. It's just what I need to de-stress and leave behind the real world.

Full review to come, but in short: Pettersson is a great writer, but not the best work builder/story teller

Non-stop and interesting with a few surprises up it's sleeve - and a strong female lead. The Archer is a cool female (comic book-style) heroine.

Wanted to love it. Can't put my finger on it, but it just didn't click for me.

I bought this book because the cover was compelling and the author was a vegas showgirl - Hello? How could I not pick this up. I think it was a really good first book. I had a hard time putting it down and when I finished was hankering for the second book. Luckily I HAD the second book two. Love it when that happens. :)

I just couldn't continue with this one. Joanna was raped and almost died as a teenager and now she is combat trained and ready to take on anyone who crosses her. Now strange things are happening to her-attacked by strange men who call her 'the one' and smell her, her despised father reveals she is not his and cuts her from the family fortune and on her 25th birthday all hell starts to break loose and bad guys are everywhere.
After 105 pages I just lost the will to live with this one. I don't mind dark and gritty but this one was boring and slow moving and Joanna seemed like a one dimensional uninteresting character compared to other female leads in urban fantasy books. Even Ajax and his bad guys were like the typical cliche(is that how you spell it?!)of a comic book bad guy. The only thing missing was his evil bad guy snigger. Not very convincing and will move to the next book on my list!
