I really liked this little glimpse into Rylie's mother. She was not nearly as bad as I was expecting her to be. I'm also really glad that Summer and Nash's relationship really didn't have any info because I haven't read it yet! I really liked Abel in this book, but I also felt Rylie's awkwardness. I would've been weirded out too if I switched from Seth to Abel. The difference is while yes Seth was kinder and gentler, ultimately that's not what Rylie needed. So I was a little annoyed by the comparisons she kept making. Overall although it was still a really good read and I can't wait to get started on the Ascension series.

I liked this book about as much as I liked the others. Though short it made for a good read by exploring the relationship between Riley and Jessica as well as Riley and Abel. I like the moment when Riley feels like someone acknowledged how hard it has been for her and she gets that support from an unlikely supporter.

Rylie's mom could be so terrible that poor Rylie is anxious about an unplanned visit. However, the end of the novel was sweet and shows that moms can step up when you least expect it if only you allow them the chance to do good.

"Alpha Moon" is a fun short instalment in the ongoing adventures of Rylie Gresham, who here has to deal with a visit from her estranged mother while at the same time trying to dodge discovery of her true nature by both her and the government agency OPA while in the meantime secretly securing a land deal.
The story thus also serves as a bridge to "Sacrificed in Shadow" the first part in the "Ascension" cycle.

Personally I'm not that big a fan of Abel in this Story; those typical Alpha-males they always make my spine run cold when they proclaim their mate as "mine" - I can't help but feel that he comes across as uncomfortably possessive at times, and it did make we wish that she had chosen Seth for a partner.
Still it's a treat for his fans and for all those that finally want to see some more 'action' between him and Rylie.

Certainly more of a Paranormal Romance entry.
